MMAPA is grateful for the experts at HHS who helped lead these town halls and provided information and answers to questions on healthcare for the American citizens of Puerto Rico.
Over the last two weeks, MMAPA, the Medicaid and Medicare Advantage Products Association of Puerto Rico, partnered with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the chief medical officers of MMAPA’s member companies to co-host a series of town halls focused on providing information and answering questions on healthcare for Americans in Puerto Rico.
Dr. Dara Kass, Regional Director for Region 2 of the HHS, led the sessions and provided up-to-date information on the Bivalent Booster of the COVID-19 vaccine to insurance providers and doctors in Puerto Rico. Dr. Joshua Wong, Medical Officer at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, also presented on the risks of Dengue in Puerto Rico, as well as the availability of the Dengue vaccine on the island.
The town halls were covered in the news, including in News is my Business. The outlet reported on MMAPA President Roberto Pando-Cintrón’s statement on the town halls, who said: “MMAPA is grateful for our partners at the Department of Health and Human Services and their work in hosting these informative town halls to help the American citizens of Puerto Rico. Thank you to all of the doctors and physicians, like our colleague José Novoa, who are playing a critical role in these town halls and who work tirelessly every day to secure the wellness of Puerto Ricans.”
